Village of Clyde voters stick with incumbents

It was an incredibly tight race in the Village of Clyde as four incumbents and a newcomer will make up council for the next four years. Incumbent Matthew White lead the way with 82 votes in the Oct.

It was an incredibly tight race in the Village of Clyde as four incumbents and a newcomer will make up council for the next four years.

Incumbent Matthew White lead the way with 82 votes in the Oct. 16 Municipal Election, but after him the difference between victory and defeat was decided by as few as two votes.

Of the remaining four elected councillors, Doug Nyal led the pack with 63 votes, followed by Christa Clausing and Nat Dvernichuck who were tied at 60 each. Newcomer Allan VanEaton was the cutline at 56 votes.

Former councillor Stu Lorencz, who sat previously sat on council from 2007 to 2010, received 54 votes and Rose Strubel had 52.

Results of the election are unofficial until Oct. 20. The new council will be sworn in Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. and an organizational meeting will follow.
