Junior Rock hit their stride

The Westlock Junior ‘B’ Rock are riding a three-game winning streak after two victories in their home building over the weekend.

The Rock put on a performance May 24 at the Rotary Spirit Centre, taking on the Edmonton Warriors in tier 2 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League action. They defeated the Warriors 10-8 with the contribution of five goals from Adam Hardinge.

Justin Blais and Jayden Vandelagemaat also scored two each, while Warren Hunt scored one of his own in the victory.

Two days later, May 26, the Rock were riding high, with positive things starting to happen for the team, which began the season with an 0-5 record. They took on the Vermilion Roar at the Spirit Centre and stole another victory, 7-5.

Vandelagemaat scored the hat trick, while Hardinge scored another two goals. Tyler Tymkow and Jeff Fagnan each potted singles in the victory.

The Rock will hit the road next weekend taking on the Cold Lake Heat June 1 and the Lloydminster Xtreme June 2 before returning home the weekend after that for games against the St. Albert Crude June 7 and the Xtreme June 9.
