Four men face first-degree murder charges in the death of Kevin Dean Damien Yellowbird of Edmonton, whose body was found in a ditch half a mile outside Westlock County late last year.

On Oct. 17 Morinville RCMP responded to a report of a body near a rural road half a mile into Sturgeon County near the southeastern border of Westlock County. The remains of Yellowbird, who also has ties to the community of Ma-Me-O Beach, were found at the scene. An autopsy was completed Oct. 18, but police have not released any information on how Yellowbird might have died.

According to a Feb. 16 RCMP press release, police have concluded his death is not related to two other incidents involving human remains found in rural areas near Morinville and St. Albert at approximately the same time.

Police are not looking for any other suspects in this case.

The press release states that Sterling Devon Martin McGilvery, 24; Skylar Taurus McGilvery, 21; Tyler Edmund Fischer, 31; and Cougar Dominique Fafard, 24, all of Edmonton, jointly face one count of first-degree murder.

All four men are set to appear in Morinville Provincial Court Feb. 22.
