Little Bike, big fun
Frank (The Ponkey) Barry shows off as he crosses the finish line in first place at the 2010 Big Dog men's race on Saturday. Costumed big boys and girls took on little bikes in two events at Barry's Ultra Motorsports Park near Busby, with Elisabeth Owen winning first in the ladies race.

With one bylaw officer gone and another set to resign in early September, Westlock County is investigating its options for replacements, including the possibility of creating an "enhanced policing position" through the RCMP.

Smashing success
There was a lot of smoke lifting off the field at the Westlock Fair demolition derby on Aug. 22. Hundreds came out to see the car-crunching action, packing the stands and forcing people to surround the arena. A total of 27 cars were entered in the derby, which was won by Cam Kochmarski.
