Town incumbents return with one new addition

Familiar faces and one newcomer will be taking a seat in council chambers at the Town of Westlock.

The unofficial results of the Oct. 16 municipal election saw the return of John Shoemaker, Curtis Snell, David Truckey, Clem Fagnan and Murtaza Jamaly along with the addition of Randy Wold to the six-person council.

Snell lead the pack with 812 votes, trailed by Shoemaker with 767 and newcomer Wold close behind with 764 votes. Jamaly came up fourth with 720 votes and Truckey taking 642 and Fagnan 551.

Newcomer Kelvin Epp was short 32 votes and collected 519 in total.

Mayor Ralph Leriger went unchallenged on Nomination Day Sept. 18 and was elected by acclamation.

If the count goes uncontested, the results will be made official on Friday.
