Westlock RCMP has seized over $14,000 worth of illicit drugs after an overnight bust on Sunday.

Police say quantities of crystal meth, morphine, valium and fentanyl pills, along with liquid GHB were among the drugs seized arrest.

RCMP report that in the early morning hours of Feb. 7 they were alerted to an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of a Westlock business. After investigation, the single occupant was arrested and charged with drug possession. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of $12,000 with of crystal methamphetamine, and $2,000 worth of morphine, valium and fentanyl pills.

Additionally, four litres of what is suspected to be GHB - a liquid form of ecstasy, also commonly referred to as the 'date rape drug" - was seized. The value of the GHB is estimated at $1,000.

'It's very good news," said Westlock RCMP Staff Sgt. Dwayne Rawson.

'Every time you pick one off there's another one that tries to come up to the plate and it's just (a matter of us staying) diligent and when these guys come in to zing them. Hopefully they'll start staying away from town."

One adult is facing numerous charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including drug trafficking, and drug possession and will appear in Westlock Provincial Court.

RCMP encourage the public to assist in efforts to ensure these substances remain out of our communities by reporting information on the sales, use and distribution to the Westlock RCMP directly.
